Does this site need a makeover or what?

Too right it does. It looks like something from 2004 and it loads so slow HTTPWatch timed out.
I’m on an intensive Dreamweaver course at the moment and when that’s finished – a 3 days a week, 10 week course, crammed into 4 saturdays – I’m on a PHP/MySQL course for a few weekends. I’m also in the middle of a 5 week SEO course, so when all that lot is done I should be able to write a half decent web page.
In the mean time I’m gonna change the theme to this critter and see which widgets, javascript and lord knows what else drops off. Anything’s gonna be better than what it looks like now.
One of the things I learnt at the SEO course was how mixing up content confuses the hell out of Google (What doesn’t? Ed). So if I’m supposed to be writing about testing software then that’s all it expects. And if you really want to do well with Google you need to make sure that these keywords exist in your post, and everyone single post. That might be great for Google but it’s gonna make posts somehow read a bit similar and probably even worse, they’ll all end up puff pieces on how great testing software is. Fat chance of that.
And what about all the other categories like Drupal, eBay, installing software, ISP’s, Office 2003. All that stuff I’ve written had precious little to do with testing software, and more about stuff that doesn’t work (So what’s the difference? Ed). All this for Googles voracious appetite for fresh, new, compelling content.
Don’t know what’s happened over the last couple of months since I’ve been writing trash on here but these pages are loading slooooooooooooow……… As soon as my back is turned etc etc.
Just checked the logs for hits for this place and they’ve shot up since June (Wasn’t that when you stopped writing posts? He-he Ed). I’ve obviously got a good link somewhere and it appears that the popular post is about the fun and games you can have with Virgin’s V Stuff Backup service and knock on effects on Samsung monitors – here.
